• Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down! Marita describes the characters and flavor of New Orleans so perfectly that you feel like you are actually sitting on a bar stool at Johnny White’s observing all the fun. She’s included lots of interesting photos to accompany the descriptions of all the characters that she encountered while working as a bartender at this legendary bar. This is a fascinating book that I read in one sitting. Marita is a very talented writer - I can’t wait for her next book!
• Must read for New Orleans Lovers!! It took me less than a day to read this. Every chapter is captivating and almost stranger than fiction. Stories about Scam artists and drunk dogs all the way to how the bar was able to stay open during Hurricane Katrina, I would 100% recommend this book!
• Such a fun book with such colorful stories. I enjoyed it immensely. Need to book a trip back to NOLA!
